The Rochester Zebras's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on Wabash with a sharp 36-14 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rochester also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Ella McCarter, who scored 15 points. McCarter set a new season high mark in points with 15. Another player making a difference was Rylee Clevenger, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Wabash lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaitlynn Honeycutt. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with three steals. Honeycutt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Even though they lost, Wabash were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rochester only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Rochester is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Wabash, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rochester will take on North Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (North Miami is ranked 198th, while Rochester is ranked 209th). As for Wabash, they will be playing at home against Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Hill's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Wabash's offense will have their work cut out for Wabash.
