The DeSoto Dragons are taking a road trip to face off against the Pacific Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
DeSoto came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Valle Catholic, falling 8-2. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Blake Coleman was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Pacific never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Hermann as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The game marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season.
Gavin Haddox made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Cole Mohesky and Nate Ball did most of the damage at the plate: Mohesky went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs, while Ball went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Pacific is undefeated when Ball posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colton Kossuth, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Pacific always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
DeSoto now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Pacific, their record now sits at 10-8.
DeSoto suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Pacific when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
