Ozanam lost against the Christ Prep Academy Patriots back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Ozanam took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christ Prep Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ozanam in their matchups with Christ Prep Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Ozanam lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talan Olmstead. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds. Olmstead scored a full 53.1% of Ozanam's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was A.W. Poke, who scored 13 points.
Even though they lost, Ozanam were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Ozanam's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Christ Prep Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ozanam will challenge Frontier School of Excellence at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier School of Excellence will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Christ Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Kansas City East Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
