This season hasn't been kind to the Coleman Comets, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vestaburg on Tuesday. Coleman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vestaburg apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Coleman's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harley Lattimore , who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Emily VanSickle was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Coleman were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Vestaburg was led to victory by Lily Johnston and Ashlyn Mortensen. Johnston scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Mortensen dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Johnston has scored at least 25% of Vestaburg's points.
