After four lead changes,
Barker/Royalton-Hartland (Barker, N.Y.) took the lead for good when
Jacob Haight kicked a field goal with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Albion (N.Y.) 33-30 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Bret Cole, the Purple Eagles went into halftime with a 22-16 lead. The Raiders scored the winning points with a field goal by Haight that came in the fourth quarter.
Albion's
Tyler Hughson played well. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
Barker/Royalton-Hartland's most effective player was Haight. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown and kicked one field goal. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Albion defeated Newfane 20-12 last week. With the win BRH extended its winning streak to three games.
In a Section 6 B - East game next week Albion (1-5) takes on Medina/Webber, and Barker/Royalton-Hartland (3-3) will go up against East also in a Section 6 B - East game.
