The Oxford Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stoney Creek Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Oxford didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Marian, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win. The victory was just what Oxford needed coming off of a 62-20 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Stoney Creek put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past Rochester 30-28. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Stoney Creek has scored all season.
Stoney Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Calista Ivezaj out in front who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Izzy Ivezaj, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Oxford is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Stoney Creek, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Oxford came out on top in a nail-biter against Stoney Creek in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, sneaking past 36-33. Will Oxford repeat their success, or does Stoney Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
