Basketball Recap: Chalmette Piles Up the Points Against Academy of Our Lady

Chalmette won against Academy of Our Lady on Saturday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Chalmette Owls blew past the Academy of Our Lady Penguins, posting a 42-8 victory. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Chalmette's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macy Robinson, who posted 16 points. Robinson's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Blaise, who earned 12 points.

Chalmette's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points per game. As for Academy of Our Lady, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Chalmette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-38 win against South Lafourche on the 2nd. Academy of Our Lady has also already played their next contest, a 77-9 loss against St. Scholastica on the 3rd.
