 On Whitefield Academy's side,  Lyla Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and a  double.
 Even though they lost, Whitefield Academy  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 12  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelby County only tossed eight.
 Shelby County's win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 6-9. As for Whitefield Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
 Shelby County will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll County at 9:30  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Whitefield Academy, they will head out on the road to  face off against  South Oldham at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
