Stockbridge has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mt. Zion Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Stockbridge gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-34 victory over Woodland on the road. Given Stockbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Woodland is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stockbridge had a senior duo take command as India Mcintosh scored 18 points along with six rebounds and six blocks and Carrington Wilson scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mcintosh scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Fulks, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Mt. Zion posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 52-29 margin over Drew. The victory was just what Mt. Zion needed coming off of a 61-34 defeat in their prior match.
Stockbridge has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
Everything came up roses for Stockbridge against Mt. Zion when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 63-25 win. Will Stockbridge repeat their success, or does Mt. Zion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
