Quinn Westerfeld put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Monday. He wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The pitching appearance was his eighth straight with five or more strikeouts.

Westerfeld's strong effort led Western Boone over Southmont and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
