The Clay Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glenwood. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Clay of the 55-34 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Glenwood was led to victory by Devin Allard and Tyreke Lewis. Allard scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two blocks, while Lewis scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lewis has scored all season.
Clay has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Glenwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
Clay will head out on the road to square off against Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clay in Ohio (Notre Dame is ranked 351st, while Clay is ranked 826th). As for Glenwood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Joseph Central at 7:30 p.m.
