After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Monterey County, the Seaside Spartans were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Stevenson by a score of 65-54. That's another feather in the cap for Seaside, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Rushing, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Toole, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Seaside's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Stevenson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Seaside will head out on the road to challenge Marina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marina knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Seaside likes a good challenge. As for Stevenson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pacific Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pacific Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
