Tyler Williams and Khary Paige provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Terrell Academy. The longest such play in GISA 3AA this season, the connection resulted in 64 yards.
Valwood extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Eagles, 43-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Valiants.
Valwood's dynamic duo of Williams and Rashad Mathis proved tough for Terrell Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 97 yards and one touchdown and Mathis had 71 yards receiving. Paige helped Valwood's passing attack out by catching one ball for 64 yards.
Will Warren was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 83 yards on 18 carries as Southwest Georgia Academy beat Bill Murdock's team. Teammate Corey Smith added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Dalton Todd of Sherwood Christian Academy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 739. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, the Valiants' Paige has rushed for 845 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mathis. The Valwood star has 23 catches for 364 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Valwood takes on second place Westwood. Last week, Valwood beat the Eagles, while Westwood defeated the Eagles.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Valiants take on the Wildcats. Valwood has allowed 58 points this season, while Westwood has given up 78. The Valiants allowed 7 points last week as they topped Terrell Academy.
The Warriors moved up to 332 from 370 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Southwest Georgia Academy climbed the ranks as a result of beating Brookwood 17-7.
