Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Sequoyah didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Glenpool Warriors by a score of 54-47 on Saturday. The win was just business as usual for the Indians, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Glenpool lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyra Mckinnie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Glenpool is undefeated when Mckinnie posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Shawnee, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Sequoyah's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Glenpool, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoyah will take on Keys in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenpool and Lincoln Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenpool is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.7 points per game this season.
