After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pius X, the Elkhorn South Storm were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 57-53 W over Papillion-LaVista. That's another feather in the cap for Elkhorn South, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eric Ingwerson, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ingwerson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedric Williams, who scored 11 points.
Elkhorn South's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Papillion-LaVista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South's road trip will continue as they head out to face Norfolk at 5:15 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Norfolk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Papillion-LaVista, they will head out on the road to face off against Grand Island at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
