The Dumas Bobcats had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 45-32 to McGehee on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dumas in their matchups with McGehee: they've now lost five in a row.
Dumas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Jones, who threw for 286 yards and five touchdowns. Teshawn Henderson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Dumas' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.0 points per game. As for McGehee, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Dumas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McGehee will head out on the road to face off against DeWitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
