The St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings were the 71-70 winner over the Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. St. John's Catholic Prep took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chapelgate Christian Academy. St. John's Catholic Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chapelgate Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Julian Sabbat out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sabbat has scored at least a third of Chapelgate Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Bishop, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
St. John's Catholic Prep's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's Catholic Prep will take on Concordia Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, they will play host again and welcome Greater Grace Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chapelgate Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
