The Cumberland Pirates won against the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans last Wednesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Cumberland really took it to Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-34 win on the road. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Cumberland had established a 25 point advantage.
Cumberland found their leader in underclassman Zack Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kelby Bierman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Cumberland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
Cumberland will be playing in front of their home fans against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they will head out on the road to challenge Unity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Unity Christian has now lost 20 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
