Mater Dei won the last time they faced Taylorville and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Mater Dei Knights' way against the Taylorville Tornadoes as the Mater Dei Knights made off with a 53-32 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Mater Dei's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dixie Ottenschnieder led the charge by going 7 of 11 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Those 17 points gave Ottenschnieder a new career-high. Alyssa Koerkenmeier was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Mater Dei has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Taylorville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record.

Mater Dei wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-32 win against Freeburg on the 13th. As for Taylorville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-41 victory against Effingham on the 14th.
