Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson-Morgan Rockets vs. Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers

Jefferson-Morgan hasn't had much luck against Chartiers-Houston recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets will head out to face off against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Jefferson-Morgan took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-33 victory over Carmichaels. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Mighty Mikes are ranked 704th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson-Morgan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Robertson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Robertson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jase Bedilion, who went 7 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chartiers-Houston). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Mapletown 77-33. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Jefferson-Morgan's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.4 points. As for Chartiers-Houston, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Jefferson-Morgan came up short against Chartiers-Houston in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 44-39. Can Jefferson-Morgan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
