The Harlan Hawks lost against the Jay Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Harlan lost to Jay at home by a decisive 64-48 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Harlan has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Harlan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zakee Thompson. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Josiah Jones was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Jay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Baldwin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Baldwin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 17 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jarrius Jackson jr, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Harlan's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Jay, they pushed their record up to 21-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Taft the next time they take the court. Jay will head out to face Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Harlan will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
