Reese R Wells was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Lewis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Kami Horner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Southeastern Local hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Waynesfield-Goshen got the win against Lima Central Catholic on Friday by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

In other batting news, Makenna Shaw was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taryn Tate, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Waynesfield-Goshen is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Southeastern Local, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Both Southeastern Local and Waynesfield-Goshen just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Waynesfield-Goshen struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits.
