The Bishop Brossart Mustangs came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past St. Joseph Central with points to spare, taking the game 63-48.
Despite the loss, St. Joseph Central had strong showings from Ava Gallion, who scored 26 points, and Sophie Ransbottom, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Gallion's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Bishop Brossart's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for St. Joseph Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Bishop Brossart will head out on the road to face off against Roger Bacon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roger Bacon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 394th in Ohio, while Bishop Brossart is ranked 46th in Kentucky). As for St. Joseph Central, they will face off against Rock Hill at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
