Even though Fort Bend Travis scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, Fort Bend Elkins still came out on top. Fort Bend Elkins secured a 59-55 W over Fort Bend Travis. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fort Bend Elkins.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Bend Elkins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Nyakundi, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charley Reado, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Ridge Point waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 53-48 win over George Ranch. Given Ridge Point's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while George Ranch is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Bend Elkins is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Ridge Point, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7.
