It was a good run, but the Lighthouse Christian Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 78-61 bruising from Bakersfield. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lighthouse Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lee Stinson, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Logan Nigh, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Lighthouse Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lighthouse Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Bakersfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Lighthouse Christian is on the road again on Thursday and play against Tournament Opponent on January 11th. Bakersfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thayer at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
