Two dominant signal callers in Malachi Wilt and Jonah Lubno are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Verrado Vipers will head out to square off against the Campo Verde Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Verrado will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Verrado is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Kellis 69-18. The Vipers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Immanuel Perry was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 41 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown. Airen Lively did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.
Verrado didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Kellis to a completion percentage of just 25%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Blake Bliss, Anthony Morales, Jairius Handley, and Elijah Baltazar, who each logged one passes deflected. Verrado wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 62.1%.
Verrado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Aidan Bineyard picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, Campo Verde made sure to put some points up on the board against Arizona College Prep on Friday. The Coyotes managed a 32-27 victory over the Knights.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Lubno and Evan Heinrich. Lubno had a great game and rushed for 88 yards and three TDs. Meanwhile, Heinrich was balling out in the loss, throwing for 311 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt.
One reason for the win was Campo Verde's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Jadyn Kinyanjui refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Verrado's record now sits at 6-4. As for Campo Verde, their record is now an identical 6-4.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Verrado has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 308.3 passing yards per game. Campo Verde, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 153.6 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Verrado was taken down by Campo Verde 42-0 in their previous meeting back in September of 2019. Thankfully for the Vipers, Caden Calloway (who rushed for 169 yards and four scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
