West Creek hasn't had much luck against Henry County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Coyote will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
West Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 34-24 margin over Kenwood on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Coyote in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won nine in a row.
Ariyana Lewis was incredible, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with one home run, six runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Reney, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Henry County waltzed into their game on Monday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Irelynn Beecham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reed Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Layne Latimer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
Henry County pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Creek, their win bumped their record up to 2-15.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Creek has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Henry County struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
