Basketball Recap: Pine Creek Piles Up the Points Against Fountain-Fort Carson

Pine Creek won the last time they faced Fountain-Fort Carson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pine Creek Eagles took their contest with ease, bagging a 67-39 victory over the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season.

Pine Creek had a senior duo take command as Blake Marshall went 8 for 20 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds and Kyler Chatman went 6 of 13 en route to 19 points. Marshall's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Wright, who posted four points.

Loss or not, Fountain-Fort Carson got some senior leadership from Alex Rivera and Sean-Paul Cruz. Rivera earned eight points, while Cruz scored 11 points.

The win made it two in a row for Pine Creek and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Pine Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-60 defeat against Liberty on the 17th. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th.
