Carvers Bay posted their biggest victory since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Scott's Branch with a sharp 46-26 victory. Given Carvers Bay's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Scott's Branch is ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carvers Bay can attribute much of their success to Jurnee Blye, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Jerchel Geathers-Washington, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. K'moni Taylor was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Hemingway, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a serious blow against Lamar on January 3rd, falling 50-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Hemingway has suffered since November 29, 2023.
Carvers Bay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Hemingway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
