Mize is 0-10 against Heidelberg since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mize Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Heidelberg Oilers at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Mize suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They took a serious blow against Collins, falling 77-43. While losing is never fun, Mize can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Collins is ranked 90th).
Meanwhile, Heidelberg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Forrest.
Mize has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Heidelberg, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.
Mize was taken down by Heidelberg 71-30 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Mize avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
