The Fairbanks Panthers can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 38-26 win over Madison Plains. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fairbanks also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Fairbanks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Poling led the charge by scoring nine points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Boehm, who scored eight points.
Fairbanks' victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Madison Plains, they bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairbanks will challenge Cedarville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cedarville and Fairbanks are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Madison Plains, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeastern Local at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeastern Local is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
