Argyle has been on the road for four straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Salem Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Argyle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Saturday, Argyle didn't have too much trouble with Hartford Central on the road as they won 54-40. Given Argyle's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Hartford Central is ranked 630th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Salem, who are still winless after their 12th matchup. They were dealt a 88-16 defeat at the hands of Warrensburg on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Salem has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Salem had strong showings from Patrick Stone, who scored three points along with six rebounds and two blocks, and Blaise Barrett, who scored two points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Salem struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Argyle's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Salem, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-12.
Everything came up roses for Argyle against Salem when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 69-32 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Salem's Josh Harrington, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Argyle still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
