Basketball Recap: Humboldt Skates Past St. Paul with Ease

Humboldt won the last time they faced St. Paul and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Humboldt Cubs took their game with ease, bagging a 70-21 victory over the St. Paul Indians. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Colden Cook was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 13 on his way to 24 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Avery Works, who went 5 for 6 en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Humboldt and bumps their season record up to 9-1. As for St. Paul, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humboldt will venture away from home to square off against Anderson County at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. Anderson County is on a three-game streak of home wins, Humboldt a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for St. Paul, they will challenge Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
