The South Plantation Paladins's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Grace Baptist Academy Flyers at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in South Plantation's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
Last Thursday, it was close, but South Plantation sidestepped Plantation for a 57-54 win.
South Plantation's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwight Stephens, who scored 16 points. The contest was Stephens' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Francis, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Grace Baptist Academy came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 50-38 win over Oak Park Christian. Given Grace Baptist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 100th in Mississippi, while Oak Park Christian is ranked 259th in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Plantation's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season.
