The Kings Knights will head out to square off against the Ross Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kings is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.
Kings can't be too worried about heading out to take on Ross: they just beat Little Miami at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Knights walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Panthers on Thursday.
Neely McElhaney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leah Mitchener, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Titler, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Kings was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Little Miami only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ross ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Franklin 7-6. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Paige Baker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up six earned runs off eight hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Josi Alvis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Kailyn May also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Kings' record is now 22-1. As for Ross, their record now sits at 17-6.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kings hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Ross struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kings came up short against Ross in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, falling 7-3. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
