Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Cinnaminson 49-21 on the road. The result was nothing new for Point Pleasant Boro, who have now won eight games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Matt Oliphant had a dynamite game for Point Pleasant Boro, rushing for 179 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 81 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jake Croce, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Point Pleasant Boro, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.8 points per game. As for Cinnaminson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Point Pleasant Boro is on the road again on Friday and play against Willingboro at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Willingboro knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Point Pleasant Boro likes a good challenge. Cinnaminson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
