4A Region 3 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Yazoo County's Michael Collum rumbled for the longest rushing play in 4A Region 3 this season in his game against North Pontotoc last week. Collum scampered for 96 yards on the play and finished with 166 on the day as his team defeated the Vikings.
Yazoo County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,938 from 3,178. The advance stemmed from a 35-14 victory over North Pontotoc last week.
Cleveland's dynamic duo of Vaughnte Dorsey and Di'Traeyvious Russell proved tough for Lewisburg to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dorsey threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns and Russell had 107 yards receiving. Austin Killion helped Cleveland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 26 yards.
Greenwood's Kwadra Griggs and Korey Robertson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Griggs has thrown for 2399 yards this season, while Robertson, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 52 catches for 859 yards. Quentin Euell's team's Collum leads the league in rushing yards with 1118.
In 115 carries Ladarius Brown has accumulated 951 yard this year.
