If the Trinity Celtics were riding high off their 64-29 takedown of the Belle Plaine Dragons on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Trinity fell 57-46 to the Bulldogs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 44th).
Eli Lawson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bennington, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Lawson hasn't dropped below 17 points for nine straight games. Mister Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Trinity's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. As for Bennington, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Trinity will be playing in front of their home fans against the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bennington is on the road again on Friday and plays the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
