The Andover Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Spring Lake Park Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Andover's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Coon Rapids 10-0. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Huskies yet this season.

Brett Buettner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Keaton Coe was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Danny Scheller was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple.
Meanwhile, Spring Lake Park hadn't done well against Centennial recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 9-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Matthew Grundtner's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ben Balsimo, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Ezra Teferi, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Andover and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Spring Lake Park, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Andover skirted past Spring Lake Park 6-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
