The Walthill Blujays had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over Wausa. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Walthill has scored all year.
Walthill was led to victory by Hugo Parker and Keesan Kaaihue. Parker scored 12 points, while Kaaihue scored 14 points. Kaaihue is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight.
When it comes to explaining why Wausa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cashe Carlson. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Carlson scored 15 or more points. Matthew Schindler was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Walthill's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Wausa, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Walthill will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wausa, they will head out on the road to take on the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
