Carter Schmitz posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Schmitz and Cedar Grove-Belgium will face off against Howards Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are at an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long.
