Football Recap: Caston Skates Past South Central with Ease

Caston got themselves on the board against South Central on Friday, but South Central never followed suit. They breezed past the Satellites to the tune of 46-0. Considering the Comets' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Ashton Bowyer had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 115 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Gavin Mollenkopf was another key player, rushing for 43 yards and one touchdown.

Caston's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for South Central, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Caston will challenge Culver Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Central, they will face off against Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Satellites will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
