Baseball Game Preview: School Without Walls Penguins vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

School Without Walls has gone a perfect 9-0 against Roosevelt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Penguins will head out to challenge the Roughriders at 4:00 p.m. School Without Walls is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.

School Without Walls had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-run drubbing they dealt Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering on Monday. The Penguins' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 22-0 shutout. Considering the Penguins have won nine matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Braden Sprinzen, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jabari Myers also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

School Without Walls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Eastern hit Roosevelt with a six-run fourth inning two weeks ago, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Roughriders fell 10-5 to the Ramblers.

Daniel Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Isiah Artilles was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

School Without Walls' win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Roosevelt, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went School Without Walls' way against Roosevelt when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as School Without Walls made off with an 11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Penguins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
