Bishop McNamara was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after falling to Bishop O'Connell. The Mustangs came in at 7 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
Our Lady of Good Counsel extended the longest winning streak in Washington Catholic this week by beating St. John's, 41-17. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Our Lady of Good Counsel's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brendan Marshall threw for 55 and one touchdown and Kendall Fuller had 50 yards receiving. On the ground Dorian O'Daniel chipped in 191 yards. Chris Dawson helped Our Lady of Good Counsel's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.
Our Lady of Good Counsel's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Marshall has thrown for 896 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Fuller has 27 catches for 458 yards. O'Daniel leads the league in rushing with 812 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Bishop McNamara and Archbishop Carroll. Bryce Bevill's team enters the contest ranked seventh in the state, while the Lions ranks 12th.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Gonzaga and DeMatha meet this week. The Eagles features well-regarded senior Devin Butler while the Stags has Terrance Davis, a sought after freshman.
DeMatha took down Archbishop Carroll 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
