It was a good run, but the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Aliceville. Tuscaloosa Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Aliceville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Thursday.
Tyquan Simon was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds for Aliceville. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simon has scored all season. Javian Mosely was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Tuscaloosa Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Aliceville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Tuscaloosa Academy will be playing at home against Holy Spirit Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Aliceville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marion at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Marion is ranked 210th, while Aliceville is ranked 233rd).
