The Oregon-Davis Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Westville Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oregon-Davis is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Oregon-Davis was beaten by Tri-Township 64-35. While losing is never fun, Oregon-Davis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Tri-Township is ranked 65th).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Westville's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. The contest between Westville and Washington Township wasn't particularly close, with Westville falling 42-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westville has scored all season.
Oregon-Davis has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Westville, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Oregon-Davis against Westville in their previous meeting back in November of 2015 as the team secured a 91-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oregon-Davis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
