The Union Parish Farmers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 61-47 bruising from Lincoln Prep. Union Parish was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lincoln Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Lincoln Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stephen Burks led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Burks hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Devin Burton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Union Parish has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Lincoln Prep, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.
Union Parish will head out on the road to challenge Mangham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Prep, they will be playing at home against Dunham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lincoln Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
