This season hasn't been kind to the Raleigh Lions, who are still winless after their 16th matchup. They took a serious blow against Northeast Lauderdale on Tuesday, falling 58-28. While losing is never fun, Raleigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Northeast Lauderdale is ranked 25th).
Davian Franklin was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with five assists and three steals for Northeast Lauderdale. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Baskin, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Raleigh dropped their record down to 0-16 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raleigh will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Pelahatchie at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they will square off against Kemper County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
