Greenfield/Northwestern hasn't had much luck against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Greenfield/Northwestern had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Routt Catholic on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Rockets. The Tigers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th.
Lainey Frank was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Frank was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

Greenfield/Northwestern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Brown County 22-2 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Addilynn Tracy made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mylee Tracy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. Lucie Dion was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, their record is now 5-8.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greenfield/Northwestern hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greenfield/Northwestern might still be hurting after the 16-8 defeat they got from Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
