Softball Game Preview: Pacifica Tritons vs. Santa Barbara Dons

Pacifica is a perfect 4-0 against Santa Barbara since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tritons will head out to challenge the Dons at 3:30 p.m. Pacifica has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pacifica came up short against Buena on Thursday, falling 14-2.

Pacifica saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Colvin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Kelsey Colvin was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Santa Barbara came out on top against Hueneme on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Dons were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Dons' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Santa Barbara's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Pacifica, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Pacifica skirted past Santa Barbara 12-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Tritons repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
